Welcome to Salway Siberians, we are a small pet nursery in beautiful southwestern British Columbia, Canada.
Being small, we are able to commit a lot of time to our animals thereby producing top quality kittens. Also, we only have a limited number of kittens each year so we can pay special attention to them.
The Siberian Cat is one of the oldest natural cat breeds. They come from Russia, where the winters are long and harsh. Siberians have a wonderful thick coat which changes twice a year. In the spring they molt their outer winter coat, and in the fall they molt their shorter summer coat. An added plus is that the Siberian, despite the longer coat, is very low maintenance. Brushing or combing them once a week is usually enough, a little more is needed during molting times to ensure no mats will form.
They are gentle, loving, very playful and have dog-like loyalty, they come when they are called, they can be taught to play fetch, and they love to have their bellies rubbed. Their ability to jump and gracefully climb into high places is astonishing sometimes.
Siberian Cats are believed to be hypo-allergenic. If you suffer from respiratory allergies due to cat dander, there may be relief for you. There have been many successful placements of Siberian Cats with allergy sufferers.
